You
might be wondering how I can expect you to put a great big j.ello | report
graphic item on your page, while you only get a 20 character text link in my
newsletter. Well here's the deal... You and I get roughly a .05%
click-through rate when we advertise with LinkExchange or other banner trading
sites. However, the banners in the j.ello | report
usually get over a 20% click-through rate. This is because when you are
looking for info, you tend to ignore the banners, but when info is brought
you at your request, the banners suddenly become part of the what you're
looking for. When people request an e-zine into their mailbox, they are
simply more apt to look at everything.
SO... even if you only get your tiny little
link in a j.ello | report once a month... that one tiny link will be seen by
THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of readers - and thousands more each time it is up -
all of whom are looking for something new and different... hence the
phenomenal click-through rate. The more sites my ad is on, the more
subscribers sign up, and the more people will see your link. The more
subscribers your site brings, the more often your link will appear. All
in all, it might very well be the highest return for your ZERO-dollar
investment for Internet advertising.

Three ways to get yourself in the link list -
- Button Graphic - if you put the 88x31 button graphic on your page and link it to http://www.jello.net/report or use the HTML code below, that's all you have to do to get your link on j.ello | report. Advertising this graphic, however, receives no weighting when the database determines how often it should be advertised.
- Panel or Banner Graphic - Since these are taking some more of your space, if you use either the 468x60 or the 130x130 graphic, you will also get a boost when the database determines the display rankings.
- Subscription Link (Recommended!)- These ads have a form attached to allow people to subscribe to j.ello | report straight from your site. If you run one of the these, your link receives the same rankings boost as #2... but you also get a boost based on the # of subscribers who sign up through your site. If you want to see your link in the newsletter as often as possible... this is the way to go!
Keep in mind that I built into the database a boost tweaking factor. If you are doing a particularly nice job of advertising j.ello | report, j.ello | report owes you in kind. So remember, good placement of the links on your site can affect your ranking in the database... if you shove it 7 links down on some page no one ever sees... I still appreciate the link, but don't expect any tweaking. :)

this only happens after the first subscriber has used your link.
